Who are we?
The British Embassy in Bucharest is part of the United Kingdom’s
- wide diplomatic network, and represents British political, economic and consular interests in Romania. We are now looking to recruit a Corporate Services Assistant.
Main purpose of job:
The job holder will provide essential administrative and logistical support to the Corporate Services team by helping manage diplomatic processes, fiscal and practical arrangements for the arrival and departure of diplomats.
The position is critical to ensuring smooth operations and maintaining standards as the Embassy’s platform has grown significantly in recent years.

This is a

- term contract for 24 months (35 hours net per week). Working hours are flexible and staff are entitled to

- lieu for agreed extra hours worked. Normal working hours for this position are Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 and Friday 08:30 – 13:00.
The annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year pro rata and the Embassy also enjoys a maximum of 14 Romanian / UK public holidays per year.
The monthly salary is 7, 578 RON gross. In addition, staff are entitled to a 13th month salary pro rata and may receive a performance related bonus at year end. Staff also receive meal vouchers and a monthly subscription to a medical centre. An individual personal development plan will be agreed with the successful candidate, which may include training outside Romania. The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearance, and satisfactory completion of a probationary period of 30 working days.
All applicants should have a
- existing legal status to live and work in Romania. The British Embassy does not facilitate/sponsor visa applications and work permits. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy are subject to terms and conditions service according to Romanian employment law.
Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Romania and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you meet the legal requirements to live and work in this country.
