Customs Team Manager
Job Description
The Customs Operations Team Manager is responsible for securing operational excellence in local day to day operations and to continually review current ways of working. He/She will be partnering with key stakeholders to secure all
- border shipments can be imported/ exported compliantly, including alignment with Supply Chain Security requirements.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain optimal setup, processes and competent resources for import and export operations within assigned country.
- Secure continual review and optimization of operations and maximize compliance. Secure efficiency of import and export activities.
- Day to day interaction with local authorities relative to transactional activities.
- Lead business and people together. Responsible for development, including both the regulatory and functional competence, of direct report
- workers in assigned geographical area. Secure
- up competence and competence succession within assigned geographical area. - Responsible for recruitment of direct reports.
- Secure processes that actively monitor for deviation, act upon deviations and pursue activities that identify and correct systemic or operational conditions the cause of deviations.
- Support Customs Operations Manager in activities necessary to identify and manage risk related to Customs operations and compliance in assigned geographical area.
- Where applicable support Customs Operations Manager in activities necessary to obtain, maintain and renew permissions, simplifications, permits, licenses, etc. required for efficient and effective import and export operations in assigned geographical area.
- Support leadership in the development and implementation of the assigned geographical area action plan for import, export and compliance initiatives. Secure follow through on initiatives.
- Manage resources to support external audits, periodic projects and

Qualifications
What should you bring
- 3- 6 years previous experience and knowledge regarding Romanian import and export rules and regulations and how to apply them to business goals and daily operations preferably in a leadership position.
- Experience in working with Romanian customs authorities.
- Strong leadership skills, experience leading, motivating and inspiring team members
- Desire and capability to initiate and implement continuous improvement
- Ability to delegate and follow up
- Desire to create strong teams and togetherness
- Strong situational leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical, investigative and interpersonal skills
- High knowledge and skills in use of Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience or knowledge in working with or within supply chain operations.
- Understanding of working in a routine based environment.
- Knowledge or understanding of working in a process oriented business structure and environment.
- University degree or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in English and Romanian are a must (written and oral).
Nice to have
- IT knowledge, including proficiency in Power BI and Python
- Excel - advanced
