Data Engineer

We are seeking a Data Engineer who designs, builds, and maintains the systems and pipelines that reliably collect, transform, and deliver data so it’s usable for analytics, machine learning, and business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical input to feature development plans and concept documents.
- Configure and administer data servers and Hadoop components.
- Develop scalable, extensible solution architectures leveraging contemporary
- data technologies in an evolving operational framework. - Analyze existing data structures and recommend improvements.
- Partner with team lead to identify technical requirements and alternatives to accomplish projects, lead major incident troubleshooting involving multiple disciplines and develop reliable solutions to complex problems which require ingenuity and creativity.
- Participate in design, code, test, maintenance, enhance and decommission phases throughout software life cycle to contribute technical expertise and to identify issues.
- Participate in and help guide research POCs, including design, coding, and performance and efficacy measurement.
- Provide significant contributions to defining team roadmap and priorities, facilitate team discussions and plans, and offer innovative suggestions within area of discipline.
- Research new technologies, propose cost effective solutions and contribute input to broader technology solutions outside of discipline.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Experience with Java, Hadoop and various components.
- Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively.
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Consistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation/organization.
