IT Department Manager / Coordinator

Role Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients a highly organized and experienced IT Department Manager / Coordinator to oversee the full spectrum of IT operations from infrastructure to software development within a dynamic and growing organization in Alba Iulia, Romania.

This is a hands-on,
- site leadership role focused on
-
- day team coordination, project oversight, and driving strategic IT initiatives including the implementation of a new ERP system and compliance with the NIS2 Directive.

Key Responsibilities

Team Coordination & Operations

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities across the IT department, including infrastructure, software, and support teams

• Allocate and track tasks, maintain visibility on workloads, and ensure service levels are met

• Act as liaison between IT, business stakeholders, and external technology providers

Project & Systems Oversight

• Lead the development and implementation of key internal tools, particularly a custom-built ERP system

• Oversee and drive compliance with the EU NIS2 Directive, including planning, technical measures, and reporting

• Monitor project timelines, risk factors, and dependencies across infrastructure and software initiatives

• Manage relationships with external consultants or vendors engaged in development, compliance, or support work

Infrastructure & Operations

• Ensure stability, availability, and security of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, endpoints, backup systems)

• Organize periodic audits, maintenance, and upgrades of critical systems

Strategic Planning & Reporting

• Collaborate with company leadership to align IT objectives with business priorities

• Define departmental KPIs and regularly report on IT performance, risks, and project statuses

• Propose and oversee the introduction of new technologies or processes that increase efficiency or security

Security & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to internal IT policies and external regulations, including GDPR and NIS2

• Lead initiatives related to risk management, cybersecurity awareness, and incident response planning

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in IT, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity

• Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure and software development processes

• Experience managing complex internal tools, especially ERP development or implementation projects

• Familiarity with NIS2 Directive requirements and cybersecurity best practices

• Proven ability to lead
  - functional teams and coordinate with external partners

• Excellent planning, documentation, and communication skills

• Proficiency in Romanian and English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

• Hands-on background in system administration, IT security, or software engineering

• Experience with IT compliance, risk management frameworks, or ISO/IEC 27001

• Prior involvement in digital transformation projects within industrial or manufacturing environments
