Program Summary

KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive,
- service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6, 000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.

Job Summary

Join KBR, a leader in delivering innovative solutions to the U. S. Government. We are seeking a dedicated Senior HSE Specialist to join our team and make a tangible difference. This role involves implementing and managing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. Your responsibilities will include incident investigations and reports, inspections, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards in alignment with client, federal, state, and local regulations, as well as KBR policies and procedures. You will engage with various stakeholders, including services personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies, interpreting standards, codes, and regulations. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and implementation of KBR values, systems, and standards, facilitating the collection and analysis of HSE statistics.

Roles and Responsibilities

Implement health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Perform inspections to ensure conformity in all areas of HSE.

Organize and conduct audits, surveys, evaluations, inspections of
- operated properties to ensure compliance.

Interact with services personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to research and interpret standards, codes, and regulations.

Conduct incident investigations, and create incident reports, assess mishap causes and risks, recommend and implement preventative/corrective actions to mitigate identified hazards/risks.

Prepare reports and maintain records, reports, and documents to meet company or regulatory requirements.

Stay informed of regulatory requirements and auditing standards.

Assist in the development and implementation of systems and standards for capturing and analyzing HSE statistics.

Solve complex problems using detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices.

Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Produce and support HSE education and training programs.

Perform administrative functions to support Occupational Health, including administrative support for coordinating medical physicals for KBR direct hire and subcontractor personnel.

Maintain patient confidentiality and provide a high level of employee service.

Work under general and occasional direct supervision to perform assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within the HSE field.

Be prepared to travel and work in austere environments.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

Requires a bachelor’s degree in occupational Health, Safety, Environmental, or a related field, and at least 2 years of directly related HSE experience.

Must have Romanian Risk Assessor and Auditor in the field of occupational safety and health training

Possess a driver's license with at least 6 months of remaining validity from the country/state of residency.

Must have an
- depth knowledge of HSE programs, policies, procedures, and processes.

Requires a strong understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.

Must have excellent
- solving skills and the ability to develop and improve processes.

Able to work with little to no direct supervision.

Requires experience mentoring junior team members.

Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills

Extensive experience using Microsoft office applications.

Intermediate English proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English at an intermediate level.

Fluency in Romanian language and possessing an unrestricted right to work and reside in Romania.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

An OSHA 30 Hour General Industry or NEBOSH Certification.

Advanced degrees in relevant HSE fields.

Additional languages spoken.

Extensive experience in HSE roles within diverse environments.

Familiarity with international HSE standards and practices.

Experience working on stateside or overseas U. S. military facilities/installations.

Proficiency in technology and programs supporting Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) HSE.

Education: Advanced degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Experience working in the government contracting sector or in austere environments.

Advanced knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Proven track record in developing and managing HSE programs and initiatives.

Strong analytical and statistical analysis skills.

Advanced HSE certifications or specialized training in areas such as incident investigation, risk management, or industrial hygiene
