The Role

In this role, the Supervisor of the Conversion Service Group will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic and tactical vision for the Conversion Service Group. This will involve leading and mentoring the direct reports in their careers, supporting projects, facing escalations, providing subject matter expertise on delivery processes to the team, developing training both internal and external to the team, and other activities needed to take this group to the next level in quality and success.

Working from the local office, and from company and customer sites across Europe as required, the successful applicant will contribute to project delivery excellence in support of utility customers in the energy generation transmission and distribution industries.

Your Impact

Manage and report on the conversion project backlog to ensure delivery success at the project and customer level.

Assist and guide your engineers on the delivery process and where they fit into it.

Develop training for the Conversion Service Group.

Develop and train external partners on conversions and processes to better ensure internal alignment at DGM.

Work with your team to plan and maintain updates to tools, processes, and procedures necessary for successful conversions.

Manage and respond to escalation requests from Project Teams.

Troubleshoot complex problems and collaborate with technical experts in various domains.

Investigate and develop approaches to solve new data transformation challenges.

Periodically travel to customer sites and work directly with customers plan, deliver, and test developed solutions.

Support the engineering manager in hiring process for your team and ensuring it remains staffed up to support conversion needs.

What You'll Need

Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Min 5 years relevant work experience and min 3 years management experience.

Experience in computer programming; C, C#, and Python preferred.

Experienence with flat file formats such as CSV, XML, JSON.

Familiarity with common developer tools such as Git, Git
Hub, MS Visual Studio.

Familiarity using Linux and Windows operating systems.

Familiarity with SQL (Oracle, Postgre
SQL, RDBMS) and No
SQL (mongo
DB, Cassandra) databases.

Familiarity with the concepts of REST based web services.

Strong work ethic including willingness to learn and investigate new technologies and problems.

Technical understanding of networking and security, operating systems, virtual environments, and systems integration.

Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Comfortable with a customer facing role.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent analytical and

Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.

Proficiency in technical writing.

Experience with or knowledgeable about electric power generation, transmission, and distribution.

Expertise in any of the following areas: electric utility operations, control systems, automation, client/server applications, APIs, web services, network communications, operating systems, algorithms, SQL and other database technologies.
