Managing Director Eurofins Asbestos Testing Romania
Job Description
The Managing Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Asbestos Testing site in Bucharest, Romania by establishing
- term goals, scientific and commercial strategies, plans, and policies.
(S)he will develop and execute a strategy to establish and grow Eurofins presence in the environmental testing market in the Romanian region, further building a leading position in targeted market segments within 3-5 years including:
General Management
- Lead according to Eurofins Leadership Charter and act as a role model for leadership and staƯ. Eurofins leadership principles give a very large degree of autonomy to each business’ leader (within agreed upon financial and operational performance measures).
- Act as a Eurofins representative, a shareholder representative, a member of the board, or as Managing Director (MD) in the holding and/or operating companies under their scope. Be interim president of operating companies as and when needed.
- Foster an environment which stimulates open communication, creativity and imagination, and engenders a team spirit in
- solving and identifying, capturing new business opportunities.
Corporate Strategy
- Develop strategic plans with their leadership team for their business regarding; service and products portfolio sales, production, consumable sourcing and, IT solutions to maximize the profitable growth.
- Work closely with key functional leaders on critical business issues such as competitive positioning and competitive strategy; sales force effectiveness; tests portfolio; costs reduction; new business development; and other initiatives to drive increased revenue growth. With the leaders of the in his/her scope, create a value proposition that will support revenue growth and increased customer loyalty.
- Participate in Key Account and relationship management as needed.
Operations
- Accountable for the consolidated P&L.
- Responsible for turnaround and change management.
- Support the leaders under their responsibility in projects related to the building, commissioning, expansion of new and existing sites as and if agreed with the Group Operating Council. Drive M&A duediligence initiatives and
- merger integration programs. - Increase operational effectiveness, productivity and
- line results by implementing

- class processes and metrics. - Analyze operating results and their principal components relative to established objectives. Ensure the soundness of the business’ financial structure. Take appropriate steps for corrective action as required.
- Overall responsibility for quality of service and compliance with all legal and contractual obligations in all businesses of his/her scope. Set up appropriate control mechanisms to detect any relevant deviation.
- Interim management for companies without an adequate leader or for specific projects and tasks.
- Ensure group systems policies and processes are adhered to across the business line under his/her responsibility
People
- Motivate, retain, develop and recruit excellent leaders for each company of his/her scope and ensure they do the same for each of their business units and sub business units.
- Implement strong performance management and team development processes along group recommendations and using group tools when available.
- Assess current talent and ensure that there is a highly committed and capable management team in place in each company, and that these leaders are coaching and mentoring potential successors and incumbents and/or bringing in additional talent as needed.
Qualifications
Education
- Masters or Ph
D highly preferred. - Undergraduate degree in the area of Business Administration, Engineering, Chemistry, or Life Sciences.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years working experience, of which 3 years with full P&L responsibility.
- Proven leadership and business development experience.
- Previous experience in a small/mid-size company operating in a very competitive/low margin sector.
- A successful,
- track career with clear progression that has not yet reached its full potential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A good understanding of the B2B environment testing business.
- A
- on attitude with an excellent understanding of financial matters. - A successful people leader with a focus on production,
