A Snapshot of Your Day

Working closely with the Program Manager – Edge and Connectivity and Technical Lead – Edge Computing you will:

Understand and contribute to the overall architecture of all Edge Computing Solutions.

Ensure the continuity of the solution and the development activities.

Guide teams of developers to develop and write software for the Edge Computing solutions provided and used by Siemens Energy.

Understand requirements presented by the Siemens Energy businesses, evaluate what is needed and convert this need into development activities to achieve the required solution.

Have a deep technical understanding of all the software development activities

Integrate all the development activities to become a cohesive Edge Computing solution.

Provide technical leadership across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Edge Computing systems provided and used by Siemens Energy assist with the efficient operation and maintenance of industrial facilities and power plants where solutions are required at a facility and in conjunction with our cloud technologies.

Design and implement strategic development techniques to improve efficiency and communication with the development team using the systems provided.

Align proposed and existing development activities with organizational goals and objectives.

Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to software development teams.

Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommended technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.

Mentoring within the Edge Computing team.

Collaborating with colleagues from other development teams.

Assist with documenting the company’s existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.

Confer with
- users, clients, or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development when required.

What You Bring

Education:

Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with a minimum 8 years of experience in the field of Software Development with expertise in all phases of software development life cycle

Equivalent professional qualifications

Experience:

Extensive experience in developing strategic software systems & architecture plans.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft. NET technologies with C# and. NET core

Understand
- end technologies such as but not limited to HTML, CSS and Java Script

Expert knowledge of Relational and Non-Relational database technologies

Have some knowledge of industrial technologies such as OPC

Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
