How you’ll make an impact:

As a Principal Software Engineer (Enterprise Architect), you will join a highly
- team of engineers who architect, and design streaming and delivery services that are robust, scalable and secure. You will collaborate with
- continent teams and execute initiatives while providing insights so Ads
Wizz technology infrastructure evolves with business objectives.

What you’ll do:

Provide technical leadership for the requirements, analysis, design and implementation of the AIS streaming server and the AIS Managed Service Platform, built on top of AWS technologies, written in the C++ and Go programming languages

Design and build
- performance, stable, scalable Ads
Wizz systems that will be deployed in a large scale, high availability environment.

Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks that guide the technology investments across Ads
Wizz.

Define architectural evolution of Ads
Wizz streaming server with adoption of modern streaming protocols.

Define and help develop Ads
Wizz Audio/Video transcoding capabilities with adoption of state of the art formats and codecs.

Lead
- level architecture discussions and planning sessions with Product and Engineering teams.

Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that the Ads
Wizz’s technology roadmap are inline with strategic company objectives

Work with various teams of engineers building software in a collaborative development process.

Execute tasks with utmost clarity and precision, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and providing clear direction to drive projects forward effectively.

Serve as a mentor, foster a collaborative environment and encourage and guide team members by being honest and direct.

Collaborate with the Product team to clarify the scope of the projects.

Collaborate with the Dev/Cloud Operations teams to ensure flawless production deployments and support the Incident Management team.

As a seasoned engineer, Influence the growth of various teams, by participating in interviewing and recruiting activities.

What you’ll need:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics or a similar field

Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.

Ability to work independently and oversee entire projects or significant parts, focusing on completing the tasks on time.

Ability to collaborate with cross timezone teams, and negotiate design tradeoffs based on organizational goals and priorities.

Proven ability to research and become proficient in new technologies

Experience identifying and debugging performance bottlenecks

Experience with Audio / Video Streaming protocols and servers. Strong understanding of various encodings, and proficiency with various transcoding toolsets.

Strong analytical and
- solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to continuous improvement.

Proficiency in constructing detailed software architecture diagrams

Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

10+ years of software engineering experience in C/C++ programming language

7+ years of experience crafting and scaling streaming and/or transcoding services, utilizing diverse cloud platforms, ideally AWS. Proficient in implementing industry best practices and design patterns tailored for
- driven applications.

Experience with advertising related protocols like open
RTB and related data models is a big plus.

Strong technical expertise in the following areas:

- C/C++ programming language, and related build tools. Familiarity with RUST is a BIG plus.

- Designing and maintaining Public APIs

- Knowledge of protocols as HTTP, RTMP, RTSP, HLS, ICY

- Mp3, Mp4 Container formats, and H264, AAC, AAC+, MPEG protocols,

- Expertise in HLS technologies

- Familiarity with transcoding tools like ffmpeg, Elemental from AWS

- Relational Databases (preferably Maria
DB or My
SQL), No
SQL databases knowledge is a plus (e. g. , Druid, Dynamo
DB, Mongo
DB)

- Caching implementations (like Redis, Memcached, etc)

- Messaging platforms (preferably Kafka, AWS Event
Bus)

- Security basics (e. g. , OAuth2 standard)

- Working with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)

- AWS Cloud Services, e. g. , S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Elastic
Cache, Cloud
Trail, Athena, Kinesis, SQS, EKS, Cognito, etc.

- Automated integration testing frameworks and tools, like Wiremock, Cucumber and Playwright.

- Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack

- Collaboration tools like Lucidchart, Jira and Confluence

We consider a plus having good expertise in any of the following areas:

- Experience with streaming servers (Shoutcast, icecast, Wowza, . . . )

- Experience with other programming languages like Go and Python
