Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled backend Python developer to join our AI Innovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining
- edge AI innovations that cater to both end clients and internal stakeholders. As a key member of the team, you will deliver scalable and robust software that drives digital transformation within the financial services industry.

You have interest in and experience leveraging LLMs and creating functional automations and product features. You will make extensive use of
- grade development practices and tools, such as Django and Docker.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of
  - performance Python-based web applications and microservices as part of our AI Innovation programme of work.
• A serious enthusiasm for emerging technology and its
  - world application, specifically AI technologies such as: predictive modelling, Auto
  ML,
  - tuning and
  -
  - shelf usage of transformer models including LLMs; for data extraction, code generation, transcription, RAG-based Q&A, and other use cases.
• Collaborate closely with product management, business analysts, and other developers to deliver
  - quality software that meets client requirements.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in coding, testing, and software architecture to ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to established coding standards and architectural guidelines.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve SS&C's digital product offerings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.
• Contribute to the strategic planning of the Digital Development function, identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, STEM, or a field related to the job in a demonstrable way.
• 3+ years of experience in Python development, with a focus on building
  - level applications.
• Strong expertise in Python, Django, and RESTful API design.
• Understanding of AI; including recent developments in Gen
  AI and common use cases; how available models and tools can be incorporated and served through backend services.
• Proven experience in designing and developing microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Familiarity with
  - end technologies (e. g. , Angular, React) and how they integrate with
  - end services.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficient in database design and development, including experience with SQL and No
  SQL databases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic,
  - oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in investment management or fintech.
• Knowledge of Dev
  Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Git.
• Experience with data manipulation and engineering, including using libraries like Pandas for cleaning, transforming, and analysing datasets.
