For our client, a global consultancy company, with a strong focus on digital learning and educational innovation, we are looking for a Senior Database Engineer.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of AWS Relational Database Services (RDS), with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and performance optimization. You will work closely with
- functional teams to ensure high availability, security, and operational excellence across our
- based data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the lifecycle of AWS RDS, including provisioning, monitoring, patching, and decommissioning.
• Work with AWS Aurora and Postgre
  SQL to support
  - critical applications.
• Lead database migration projects.
• Analyze and optimize execution plans and queries to improve performance and efficiency.
• Oversee backend storage management, ensuring scalability and
  - efficiency.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement
  - term fixes.
• Create and maintain handbooks, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Support incident resolution and assist teams in epic creation and
  - solving.
• Perform operational tasks, including incident handling and
  - call support as needed.




Required Skills & Qualifications


• Proven experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, and Postgre
  SQL databases.
  
• Experience with Cloud
  Watch monitoring.
  
• Solid understanding of backend storage, disaster recovery, and high availability principles.
  
• Excellent
  - solving skills and experience with RCA investigations.
  
• Strong communication skills and ability to create clear documentation.
  
• Experience in a Dev
  Ops or Cloud Engineering environment is highly desirable.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS Red
  Shift and Oracle.
• Implement authorization management using IAM tools.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Crossplane.
• Design, configure, and manage CI/CD pipelines for database and infrastructure deployments.
• Set up and maintain monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and integrate alerts with Microsoft Teams.
• AWS certifications (e. g. , AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Solutions Architect).
• Experience with container orchestration (e. g. , Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
