Procurement Manager with German in the field of Construction Services

The Strategic Procurement Manager Construction Services is responsible for managing strategic sourcing projects to deliver
- value,
- efficient, and compliant procurement solutions. This role involves overseeing supplier selection processes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and procurement standards. By leveraging strategic sourcing techniques, the Strategic Procurement Manager plays a key role in driving value creation, optimizing supplier relationships, and contributing to the organization’s overall procurement goals.

In addition to its strategic duties, the Strategic Procurement Manager Construction Services is responsible for the project buying activities within dedicated categories. These activities are containing among others:

Ensuring that all procurement is timely,
- effective, and aligned with project objectives.

Close collaboration with project teams to understand their requirements.

Ensuring that project timelines are met.

Delivering value through effective sourcing and supplier management.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Supports category leader in developing
- specific procurement strategies.

Conducts supplier analysis and market research for informed
- making.

Contract negotiations and supplier relationship management.

Identifies
- saving opportunities within the category.

Manages sourcing projects aligned with category goals.

Tracks and reports on supplier performance and compliance.

Ensures alignment with procurement policies and risk management practices.

Prepares and analyses procurement data for strategic insights.

Supports demand forecasting and planning within the category.

Collaborates with internal stakeholders on category requirements and initiatives.

Assists in measuring of and reporting on KPIs for procurement operations.

Advises on periodic supplier and contract reviews.

Manages supplier selection and onboarding for project needs in line with the overall supplier strategy.

Coordinates with project teams to ensure timely procurement for milestones.

Manages risk assessment and mitigation for
- related procurement.

Verifies with Category Leaders for existing demand contracts and ensures their use (when applicable).

Qualifications:

Very good knowledge of/proficient in German; English professional working proficiency.

Additional language skills beneficial, especially for working with international suppliers.

5+ years of expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation and contract negotiation in the field of construction services (including a deep understanding of applicable norms e. g. SIA).

Understanding of procurement policies, compliance requirements, and risk management.

Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and supplier performance.

Strong understanding of project timelines, budgets, and specific procurement needs.

Proficiency in procurement systems (e. g. , SAP, Oracle).

Familiarity with data analytics and reporting software (e. g. Sievo, Power BI, Messerli, Bauplus etc. ).

Initial experience using digital sourcing and contract management platforms.

Familiarity with project management tools (e. g. , MS Project, Jira) is an advantage.
