- ready components such as hinges, locking systems, clamps, mechatronic systems, strengthening bars and other transmission components.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of cost calculation engineers, overseeing the development and implementation of cost estimation processes, and ensuring accurate and timely cost estimates for various projects
• Establish and maintain cost estimation methodologies, standards, and best practices
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other resources, by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and contract documents
• Develop and implement pricing strategies for products and services, considering market trends, competitor pricing, and company objectives.
• Work closely with
  - functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and procurement, to gather requirements and ensure alignment in cost estimation processes.
• Involvement in Contract reviews (Commercial aspects - Sales price, Exchange rates clauses, Material clauses etc. ) and Customer negotiations (creation of Cost breakdown based on OEM requirements/templates, bidding reviews)
• Review and validate cost estimates prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards
• Analyze historical data, market trends, and other relevant information to create accurate cost projections and identify potential
  - saving opportunities
• Responsible for Make vs. buy calculations, benchmarking/"tear down" with similar products
• Train and develop team members on cost estimation processes, tools, and techniques, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Monitor project costs against the estimated budget, identify variances, and work with the team to implement corrective actions.

 Competencies & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field
• Several years of experience working as Cost Engineer in cost estimation, with a proven track record of developing accurate and detailed cost estimates for complex projects, preferably within the Automotive industry
• Strong understanding of cost estimation techniques, methodologies, and software
• Demonstrated solid leadership skills and experience
• Willingness and ability to integrate into a team and a high level of resilience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as the position requires working with different teams and departments.
• Excellent analytical and
  - solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify cost drivers.
• Ability to work in a
  - paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices
• Knowledge of SAP (FI, CO) modules
• Fluent in English and German is a plus
