Tool & Equipment Buyer
Job Description
- The Tools & Equipment (m/f) buyer is responsible for the sourcing of the tools, fixtures, gages and checking fixtures, equipment and packaging necessary for the
- house production of the client's interior systems plants. - The activities of the Tool and Equipment Buyer start during the acquisition phase of new
- programs, end with the successful transfer of the serial production in plants and follow the framework of the Program Management System (PMS).
- Prepare the sourcing strategy according to the needed technologies and available supplier panel
- Ensure suppliers selection from the agreed supplier panel identified in cooperation with the commodity buyers
- Create and manage the request for quotations to the suppliers
- Analyze and review the supplier quotations according to the specifications together with the engineering and program teams
- Negotiate with the suppliers to reach the timing, cost, quality and technical requirements of the programs
- Conduct the supplier nomination process
- Create the purchase orders in SAP
- Direct performance
- up during the program phase - Follow and negotiate modifications, ensure quality during the program phase, respect delivery deadlines
- Ensure that the program phase reviews, or « gate » reviews are supported within the framework of the Program Management System (PMS).
Qualifications
- Masters degree in purchasing with a professional experience and specialization in
- international purchasing
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Buyer in an industrial environment
- Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work in a matrix organization
- International mind set, overseas experience is a plus
- Negotiating skills and assertiveness
- Minimum
- lingual (English required) - Good Knowledge of MS Office tools and SAP R/3 MM
