Transaction Management (TM) serves as a critical component of our First Line of Defense for wholesale and counterparty credit risk. TM works through the challenges of the Wholesale Credit Risk Lending processes with the aim of transforming the credit risk process flows, including but not limited to operational oversight, legal documentation, and collateral. The scope of responsibilities and scale of this team will evolve over time to continue to meet internal needs. TM will coordinate with credit management groups across corporate businesses to ensure full alignment on business and regulatory goals, as well as consistency and best practices where appropriate.

TM covers Documentation controls, Collateral controls, and Credit Documentation Review. The Transaction Manager is an intermediate level position responsible for managing collateral through its lifecycle, engaging in documentation drafting and verification prior to disbursement, and ensuring the quality of data/controls/processes meet all internal requirements. Other objectives of this role are to coordinate and maintain data quality in credit systems, escalate deficiencies, and recommend solutions in alignment with overall credit policies.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Disbursement Review: Participate in legal documentation drafting for approved transactions. Review executed credit legal documentation to detect any deficiencies before funds disbursement. Communicate with all stakeholders in the credit process, primarily with Risk, Business, and Legal teams, as well as with internal/external auditors.

Data Management: Maintain
- related data attributes in various internal systems. Review collateral documentation and maintain
- related data attributes in various internal systems.

Reporting and Analysis: Review month-end reports for assigned portfolio segment(s) following data quality processes and submit or process adjustments, verifying their accuracy.

Credit Structuring Support: Assist businesses with implementing complex credit structures based on customer’s requirements.

Process Improvement: Apply
- depth knowledge and contribute to simplification and standardization of processes.

Risk Management: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy. Exercise sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices. Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.

Ideal background:

3-5 years of relevant experience

Bachelor’s/University degree is preferred

Demonstrated analytical skills

Clear and concise written and verbal communication

Fluency in English and Romanian

Ability to prioritize deliverables and work independently of direct supervision

Ability to collaborate across multiple business lines and levels of management

Ability to adapt to changes in a dynamic environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
