Application Specialist
Job Location: hybrid in Bucharest
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Application Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and maintaining various applications that contribute to the efficient operation of our retail business.
This role requires a strong technical background, excellent
- solving skills, and a deep understanding of the retail industry.
Responsibilities:
-Engages in discussions with the business analysts and stakeholders to formulate features that encompass the business requirements.
-Effectively translates
- technical requirements from the Product Owner (PO) and Business Analyst (BA) into technical specifications for implementation by the BI developer/BI engineer or Empower BI team.
-Ensures that
- implementation, the requested changes have been correctly executed and aligned with the business requirements.
-Actively seeking feedback from users to understand how applications can be improved or optimized for better efficiency or user experience.
-Work on customizing applications to better fit the specific requirements of the company, by collaborating with developers to build bespoke solutions.
-Ensures that any team member can understand the application environment and makes troubleshooting more efficient.
-Responsible for the setup, configuration, and deployment of
- specific applications, like Point of Sale (POS) systems, inventory management systems,
- commerce platforms, and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions.
-Ensures that maintenance and updates are applied correctly without interrupting the retail operations.
-Integration between various systems (like POS and inventory management or
- commerce and CRM) is crucial. Work to ensure that different software solutions communicate seamlessly with each other.
-Designs the system architecture that serves as a blueprint for the development process.
-Understand basic security principles, where is related to financial or personal customer data.
-Collaborate with the security team to ensure that retail applications are secure from potential threats.
Skills:
Mandatory:
-Understanding of the specific applications and systems we are managing.
-This could include POS systems,
- commerce platforms, inventory systems, as below, but is not limited to:
a. Point of Sale (POS) systems
b. Inventory management systems
c. ERP
-Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: quickly diagnose issues and rectify them, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
-Documentation Skills: the ability to create clear, concise documentation for configurations, processes, and changes is essential.
-Interpersonal Skills: the ability to explain technical concepts to
- technical stakeholders, train users and build relationships with users and stakeholders to ensure that the solutions meet the company's needs.
-Continuous Learning: a proactive attitude toward learning about new software, technologies, or methodologies.
Nice to Have:
-Testing and Quality Assurance: understanding how to design and execute tests to ensure software functions are as expected.
-Vendor Management: experience in negotiating with vendors, understanding SLAs, and managing vendor relationships can be useful.
