Senior Backend Engineer

Salary: 17. 000 - 20. 000 RON net per month

• ● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field
• ● 7+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership
• ● Deep expertise in Java; solid Python skills
• ● Working knowledge of relational database management systems such as SQL Server.
• ● Extensive experience developing for and working in cloud environments, Snowflake preferred
• ● Extensive experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.
• ● Familiarity with data integration and ETL tools.
• ● Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders
• ● Self-directed and comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.

• In the Engineering group, we are accelerating the product vision by building solutions in a fun, collaborative, efficient, and adaptive team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will collaborate with leaders in technology, data, and energy to build solutions and tools for handling the highly complex problems posed by the evolving power grid. You will also work directly on projects to integrate systems and serve energy data to customers. • Primary Responsibilities
• ● Lead the design and delivery of core Yes AI infrastructure: MCP server, natural language integration layer, and the Semantic Context Layer that encodes Yes Energy's power market expertise
• ● Provide architectural guidance on how Yes Energy data (Oracle, Snowflake) is structured and exposed to AI agents and LLM-powered applications
• ● Work closely with data engineering, operations, and infrastructure to build services that support real-time, AI-driven customer workflows
• ● Engage actively in all product life cycle phases, emphasising design and strategic planning.
• ● Mentor Backend Engineer IIs and elevate the technical bar of the team
• ● Drive technical discussions and partner with engineering leadership on design and planning decisions
• ● Engage directly with cross-functional stakeholders — product, domain experts, and occasionally customers — to shape the right solutions
