Senior Backend Engineer - Payroll Integrations Team

Salary: 18. 000 - 22. 000 RON net per month

• 8+ years of backend development experience
• Solid experience with functional programming and microservices
• Experience with AWS or an equivalent cloud platform
• Well-versed with git-flow (git power user)
• Good understanding of SQL, NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership mentality
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills
• Bonus Points (Nice to Have):
• - Backend development experience in Kotlin
• - Hands-on experience with 3rd-party APIs, async processing, error handling, retries, and handling unexpected behaviors
• - Experience with event-driven design and resilient systems
• - Experience designing for fault tolerance, scalability, and self-healing systems
• - Familiarity with AI-enhanced tooling (e. g. , ChatGPT, Copilot, custom scripts) to boost productivity and automate routine tasks

• Own the entire development cycle from technical design to coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Develop resilient and scalable payroll integrations that ensure seamless payroll processing for customers
• Handle and design integrations for third-party APIs that can be unpredictable, focusing on flexibility and reliability
• Work in an async-heavy environment with event-driven workflows, background jobs, and failure recovery mechanisms
• Collaborate with product, frontend, external payroll providers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth customer experience
• Continuously improve performance, observability, and overall system reliability
• Take features from concept to production in a CI/CD environment with frequent deployments
